It’s 1977. Enter the smug suburban home of Beverly and Laurence who have invited new neighbours Angela and Tony to drinks and snacks. Also invited is Susan, whose teenage daughter, Abigail, is holding her own party three doors away. The evening begins with small-talk and niceties, but the sense of growing martial strain between Beverly and Laurence, Susan’s anxiety as to what Abigail is up to, and the fantastically tactless remarks by Beverly and Angela fuel a mounting tension which finally snaps in a shocking climax.
